Egg: This egg was only found once, on 10 November 2002, 5km off Park Rynie, but was so big and distinctive that it is recorded here. The oil globule is surprisingly small for such a big egg. Plate B shows the egg 48 hours PC, with the oil globule arrowed.

Larva: Three days post collection, the larva appeared to be unable to hatch, and was dissected out of the egg for the photograph (C). The position of the anus and oil globule are shown by white and black arrows respectively. A: 10 hours PC,  B: 48 hrs PC, C: 3 days PC.
